- What does VoIP mean?
Voice Over Internet Protocol. VoIP uses the internet to make calls by converting voice into digital packets. If you’ve used Zoom, Teams, or Skype, you’ve used VoIP. It’s typically more affordable, offers advanced features like voicemail-to-email, call recording, and is easy to scale as your organization grows.
- What happens if the power goes out? Can I still use my phone?
Because VoIP relies on an active internet connection, if the power goes out you won’t be able to use your phone. However, we do offer a battery back-up option that can keep your modem and phone running in the event of a power outage. Additionally, it’s always a good idea to have a secondary means of communication, such as a cell phone, in the event of an emergency.
- How is VoIP different from the regular phone line I’m used to using?
POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) is the traditional landline system that’s been around for over a century. It uses copper wires and the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) to transmit calls

The process of transferring a phone number to us from another carrier can take up to 2 weeks but generally receives a response within 1 week.
