Frequently Asked Questions
- Can I set up auto pay through my bank?
Yes, you can, however, please check to understand if this means your bank will process an electronic transaction, or if
they will send a paper check. If they send a paper check please allow time for the USPS to deliver the payment to our local office. - What type of payments can be made by phone?
We accept VISA, Mastercard, and Discover cards or ACH directly from a bank account. There is a 2% processing fee for all credit/debit card payments.
- Do I have to call Julie before I dig?
Illinois excavation laws state that any homeowner or business looking to excavate and or dig in their yard for anything, even just a garden bed, must call Julie to ensure that Public Utility lines are marked. This is so anyone who is doing the digging is properly notified and lessens the risk of them damaging the utility lines.
- When will they bury this line in my yard?
Drop lines can take approximately 4-6 weeks to be buried on average. Inclement weather, such as the ground being frozen or heavy rain can impact this time significantly. If you have any questions about the status of your line, please contact our local office at 309-322-2377.
- I have a Generator, so I have power during an outage, why don’t I have internet?
The local structure known as a node, which is responsible for delivering connections from our head office in Metamora to your local residence, also requires power to function.
Unfortunately, this means that though your generator may be providing your home with power, if the Node is without power then connection will not resume until power does.
